Place du Grand Sablon, Brussels
Tuesday, June 30, 2009

This week: Ommegang! From the website:

"Once more, Ommegang opens its doors to give you breathtaking folklore, magic and animations.

"More than 1400 performers will help you relive a history (1549, the procession of Charles V) under the vigilant eye of the director Gilles Daoust who will oversee sound and light for the fourth year in a row.

"The Tenor Sebastien Romignon will perform live at the spectacle accompanied by music composed by Ernst W. Meinrath. JO Lemaire will provide the narrative in French and Johan Verminnen in Flemish.

"A whole medieval village will be created at Place du Grand Sablon, with free entry for everyone. Catapults firing candies and Knights combating on foot are some of the activities that will combine history with pleasure over the three days event.

"Do not miss June 30th, July 1st and July 2nd – a 100 years experience in 100 minutes!"
